Luiz Noor was shot in the abdomen, and another was shot in the face, according to New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., while driving in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., police received a call about another man who may be involved in a shooting. The shooting occurred after the driver of an SUV pulled alongside two young men on a bicycle. The driver then pulled up behind the two boys, armed with a pistol.
The boys ran away, and a short time later a man emerged from a nearby residence and shot two of the boys. The other victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital for treatment.
The victims were later identified as 20-year-old Diego Alves, and 24-year-old Eduardo C. De La Cruz, both from Brooklyn.
The victims’ families were notified about the shooting shortly after it occurred and were brought to Jamaica hospital to be with their loved ones.
Earlier, officials had confirmed that the victims of the shooting are from Brooklyn. Police later added that another victim was an 18-year-old from Brooklyn.
Meanwhile, the family of one of the injured victims urged the public in a Facebook post to be aware before any violence erupts:
No suspect description has been released, although the deceased is described by authorities as a “white male.” A witness said on social media that the gunman may have had an American Express card and may have been a “white males.”
